ABOUT THE CLUB

The Alabama Custom Car and Truck Club was originally founded by Chris Reeves in Oxford, AL.  At one time, the Alabama Custom Car and Truck Club was one of, if not the largest car and truck club in the state of Alabama with over 800 members locally and across the country!

The Huntsville Chapter is currently the only operating chapter of the Club.  It began in 2000 with Jay McGiboney (Jay Mack) as its President.  Since then we have grown by leaps and bounds.  We currently have over 80 members in Huntsville and the surrounding areas.  We’re trying to build every day with new members, new sponsorships, and new opportunities.

This club is based on simply having fun and showing off.  It gives people with the same interests and hobbies an opportunity to take advantage of the benefits offered by a club.  All of our members are more like a family than anything else.  We help out one another and have as much fun as we can.

We do have sponsorships from local organizations and businesses from around the Huntsville area.  R&R Graphix, Billiard Street Café, and D&D Detailing are just to name a few, as well as national organizations such as National Tire and Battery.

We’re a very friendly and laid back car club.  The age ranges in the club are from 16-60+ as of right now.  This is not just a “club for kids” because it is a club for the car show/auto enthusiast.  There is no age limit at all to be in the club.  We’re all big kids anyway.  We do have rules as every organization needs, but they are mostly based on common sense.

We have a lot of club pride and unity.  We travel in a large pack to car shows and we park together at car shows.  We meet together and leave at a certain time.  It’s an awesome sight to see 15, 20, or more cars on the way to a car show.  It gets us noticed, and gives us a chance to show off because we pretty much take up the entire road.  As far as car shows in general, we try to make at least one car show every weekend.  We also try to do one “big show” a month like Slammin’ N Jammin’ in Lebanon, TN, Spring Fling in Panama City Beach, FL, Scrapin’ the Coast in Biloxi, MS, etc.  We travel to these shows and stay the weekend seeing as how most of them are 2 days long.

We have weekly meetings held on each Sunday at 3:00 p.m.  The meetings are where new members are voted in, and how members find out and make decisions about upcoming shows and other issues pertaining to the club.  It is very important for all members to be present for the meetings, but its fine if you’re unable to make it due to work, illness, etc.  Members that are not present are notified as to what happened at the meeting by e-mail on the following day, but are preferred to be present.  The only requirements concerned with the club are that members make at least 5 shows per year, and attend at least 1 meeting per month.

Membership fees for the club are as follows:  $25 one time only membership fee. If you have more than one car you’d like to put in the club it is only $10 per car.  There are also $10 monthly dues per member that go toward things for the club such as shirts, hats, hotel rooms, and other various things to benefit the club and the club members.

We hope that you’d be interested in joining our club.  As mentioned earlier, this is a great opportunity to meet and surround yourself with people that have the same interests that you do, as well as having resources at your disposal that other people that are not in the club wouldn’t ordinarily have.  If you have any questions at all, please e-mail Jay at JayMack75@aol.com.
